Water Conservation update: Stage 2
9/30/2024 2:03:28 PM
Greetings, Neighbors
H2GO appreciates your response to the irrigation restrictions and for participating in our
water conservation efforts. The reductions in irrigation usage over the past month have had
a significant and favorable impact to reduce weekly water demands on the system, providing
relief to well conditions and RO operations. Recent rainfall has provided some temporary
relief, too; however, irrigation peak demand months typically continue through August and
therefore it would be premature at this time to end or roll-back the current water
conservation stage.
Please keep in mind, irrigation should only be used to supplement weekly rainfall. During
the Stage 2 restrictions, irrigation controls should be adjusted for an application rate of no
more than ½” of water per irrigation day – less if weekly rainfall helps to reduce
supplemental irrigation. Rain and soil moisture sensors connected to your irrigation
controls will help to reduce unnecessary irrigation.
Please note, tiered irrigation rates will become effective August 1, 2024. H2GO has
developed rate calculators for irrigation usage and for water/sewer services. The rate
calculators can be found on the H2GO home page, or by following this link: Rate Calculators
• To calculate monthly irrigation bills: 1. Select your meter size (residential irrigation is
typically a ¾” meter); 2. input the monthly irrigation usage; and 3. click “Calculate”. By
adjusting the input for monthly irrigation usage, you can see how wasteful irrigation
practices and/or excessive usage will result in higher irrigation bills; and you can also see
how reduced irrigation from responsibly managed systems will result in monthly savings.
• To calculate monthly residential water and sewer bills: 1. Input the monthly water usage;
and 2. click “Calculate” to see your monthly combined water and sewer billing. This rate
calculator can also help to demonstrate potential savings if water. usage is reduced
through conservation. Follow this link for additional water conservation tips:

FYI - Residential water base fees and usage rates became effective on August 1, 2016, and
remain unchanged this year. Sewer rates, effective July 1, 2024, have increased from a $15
monthly base fee to $18, and sewer usage rates have increased from $5.55 to $6.00 per
thousand gallons usage. Irrigation base fees remain unchanged; however, tiered irrigation
usage rates will become effective on August 1, 2024.
On behalf of the H2GO Commissioners and staff, thank you for your patience and
understanding during the Stage 2 irrigation restrictions, and thank you for joining our efforts
to responsibly manage our water resources.
