NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SEWAGE
On September 16, 2024, Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer had a discharge of untreated wastewater from a wastewater collection system manhole near the North Lanvale lift station along Lanvale Rd NE approximately 150’ south of King Rd NE. The amount of the overflow was approximately 5,400 gallons. The overflow from the manhole reached a drainage feature tributary to Sturgeon Creek. An upstream broken sewer lateral at a burned-out, abandoned house was discovered and capped reducing excessive stormwater inflow to the collection system. This notice is required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C.
